The project included the installation and central management of information and promotions in McDonald’s restaurants throughout Croatia. Content can now be changed simultaneously on the cloud for all locations nationwide.
In cooperation with its technological partners Combis and Samsung Electronics Adriatic, McDonald’s has entered into the final phase of installing simultaneous visual communications solutions with its guests throughout Croatia. According to Ivana Šapina, head of Marketing and Public Relations at McDonald’s Croatia, this rounds up the digital transformation of all McDonald’s restaurants in Croatia.
“Digitalisation of services has been a priority for some time. Previously, we modernised processes in the kitchen, introduced the McDonald’s application that was well received among customers, and equipped restaurants with self-service panels enabling guests to more quickly and easily order their favourite products. In cooperation with Combis and Samsung Electronics Adriatic, we have now installed display screens with ordering systems in restaurants and on McDrive lines, and we can finally say that the majority of communications processes with our customers and restaurant staff has been digitalised,” said Šapina, who added that the customer’s digital experience achieved in this project is an innovation the company has strived for, and which will continue into 2023.
In addition to the hardware and software solutions, cloud-based central management of all multimedia content has been installed for over 360 digital screens in all 41 McDonald’s restaurants in Croatia. In this way, all communications are aligned, and can be managed in real time.
But what is simultaneous visual communication (or digital signage)? Though most associate this concept with digital signatures, Maja Markulin Klarić, director of Digital Innovations at Combis says that this is a new standard in modern marketing. “The effective spreading of a digital message from any place at any time, that can be altered within minutes, gives an incomparable advantage in comparison with the traditional industry formats. Intrigued by the possibilities, we are also focused on education, and have become a proud bearer of the Samsung Smart signage solution and Smart signage hardware certificates, and the only bearer of these Samsung certificates in all of Southeast Europe,” said Markulin Klarić.
Considering the digitalisation trend that McDonald’s has been dictating in Croatia in recent years, it should come as no surprise that this project has been led by McDonald’s, in cooperation with Samsung Electronics Adriatic and Combis. “The digital signage solutions market is experiencing strong growth, and this will only strength in the future. That is why we and our partners have invested so much enthusiasm and energy, to execute what we believe is the largest project of its kind in Southeast Europe,” said Vjekoslav Mikulić, regional key accounts manager for professional screens from Samsung Electronics Adriatic.
