During the holidays, when we look for special gifts for our loved ones, a collection of picture books brings together everything we want to give our children – fun, knowledge, and security. Combis together with the Centre for Missing and Abused Children have presented a new picture book from the beloved collection “Fairy Tales in the Digital World” – Hansel and Gretel. This book will be much more than an ordinary gift under the tree. At a time when kids mostly want to receive smart phones and tablets, this magical storybook comes as a perfect ally for children in helping protect their little ones in the digital world.
Hansel and Gretel is the fifth picture book in this magical series, following the stories of the Three Little Pigs, Pinocchio, The Ugly Duckling, and Little Red Riding Hood that have already won over the hearts of many families. Every page provides not only colourful illustrations and an exciting story, but wise lessons about internet safety, told in a language that children can understand and love. What makes this storybook so magical is the way it brings the whole family together – by reading together, grandparents and parents can share precious moments with children, whilst also teaching them about the challenges of the digital age.
The presentation of the most recent in this storybook series and its sale to benefit charity was held in late November 2024 at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. In addition to book sales, the Combis employees and their little ones enjoyed a special programme for children, and an adapted play about Hansel and Gretel.
“Our greatest reward is seeing children learn important life lessons through play and imagination,” said Maja Markulin Klarić, director of the Combis Digital Innovations Department. “Every storybook sold is a gift that keeps on giving – it brings fun and knowledge to one child, while helping to promote child protection on the internet”.
Ana Budimir from the Centre for Missing and Abused Children added that it is particularly touching to see that this project has been bringing joy into homes for the past four years in a row, while also helping to build a safer future for children.

All proceeds from the sale of the storybooks will be donated to the Centre for Missing and Abused Children. The funds raised will be used for educational workshops and programmes that support the protection of children in the digital age.
