Combis and Hrvatski Telekom have successfully implemented the Otočac City App for smart city management. Through the innovative OneCity App platform, the residents of this Lika town can now use the app to track and pay for their bills, receive important information, and communicate with city services.
The Town of Otočac is one of the first in the Republic of Croatia to introduce the modern and user friendly Smart City App, financially supported by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund.
“We have installed the digital platform City App Otočac, giving citizens easy access to city services such as viewing and paying for bills, reporting municipal problems, and filing digital applications for services provided by the town. These services, in addition to the publication of important service information intended for both residents and tourists, will enable better quality and more transparent communications, and more efficiently resolve citizen requests to improve citizen satisfaction. The application will be the basis for further development and digitalisation of our town services,” said Otočac mayor, Goran Bukovac at the recent launch of the application, which guarantees clear benefits for both citizens and cities of all sizes.
“At Combis, we have been working hard for several years to develop the Smart City solutions, and in combination with Hrvatski Telekom, city digitalisation has taken on a new dimension. We are delighted that more and more cities are deciding to take this important step towards its residents. I would like to highlight that all of our technological solutions also track and ensure cybersecurity as a key challenge that cities face during digital transformation. The new NIS2 Directive of the European Union on network and information system security has set high standards for the protection of critical infrastructure, and requiring the compliance of public enterprises responsible for the supply of energy, water, drainage and sewage, and those involved in waste disposal and traffic regulation. In cooperation with Hrvatski Telekom, we have already implemented solutions that help city services to align with this Directive, and to raise their resilience to cyberthreats,” stated Goran Car, general director of Combis.
Digitalisation is an essential step in building modern urban centres, and the OneCity application is just one in a series of smart solutions that Combis and Hrvatski Telekom offer cities to more efficiently manage resources, reduce operating costs, and increase citizen security.
The application of the Town of Otočac is user-friendly for all age groups, as it offers a simple, easy-to-understand, and comprehensive view into all rights and responsibilities. Older generations that have difficulties with new technologies will have the opportunity to overcome digital skills, while for younger ones who usually take on payment of bills and communications with services, this will be a quick and efficient means for resolving daily obligations, regardless of where they may be,” stated Otočac mayor Goran Bukovac.
