The many years of cooperation between Combis and Algebra has given rise to another valuable project – the Damir Baronica stipend, through which Combis supports students of the Algebra College and giving them a chance to gain valuable experience through education and mentorships, while also giving them financial support.
“We are incredibly happy to have the opportunity to work with students. The experience of working with young people is so rewarding, and we see that students to recognise the advantages of this form of cooperation,” stated Goran Car, general director of Combis.
According to the experiences of Algebra, mentorship by experienced mentors is invaluable for every students, and one of the requirements needed to be able to sit the practical exams.
“We know that theory has little value without practice. That is why it is our goal to attract employers to help bring our students into the business world. When students experience real challenges, see how to work on real projects, their eyes are opened to a whole new world, and the power of technology can be viewed from multiple angles. This is why we are delighted that Combis has recognised this means of supporting students,” said Hrvoje Balen, founder and co-owner of Algebra.
“The stipend is very important to us, as it bears the name of our too soon departed colleague Damir Baronica. Damir was not just an expert in his field, he was a man with a great heart. He was highly educated and an esteemed member of the ICT community, author of the book ‘Microsoft Excel 9: tako lako’, and the manual ‘Umrežavanje računala’, and a long-time associate of the journals Mreža and Bug. For many he was, and remains, irreplaceable. It is our great honour to be able to name this stipend after him,” said Car.
