Combis held a grand charity event to educate children about online dangers, at the Hilton Garden Inn hotel in Zagreb on Wednesday, 6 December.
Combis employees sold picture books from the collection “Fairy Tales in the Digital World”, created in cooperation between Combis and the Centre for Missing and Abused Children. The picture books also come with a workbook that addresses the topics of online challenges and dangers.
“A big thank you to everyone who accepted our invitation and took the time for this charity event. Thanks to all the company employees in the neighbourhood who came out in such great numbers to surprise us. Together, we have done a good deed and come a step closer to a safer digital society,” said Maja Markulin Klarić, director of Digital Innovations at Combis. She added that this charity initiative also included giving gifts to young children at the Suvag Polyclinic for hearing and speech. “I would like to greet the brave young pupils in the lower grades at Suvag, and wish them a very happy and Merry Christmas,” said Maja Markulin Klarić as the charity event organiser.
The price of each storybook is EUR 6.62, and all proceeds from the sale of storybooks goes to the Centre for Missing and Abused Children. The storybooks can also be purchased at Tisak Media and Školska Knjiga bookshops, or directly from the centre by contacting: info@cnzd.org!
“We are truly delighted that this new storybook from the award-winning collection ‘Fairy Tales in the Digital World’ brighten up the holidays for many. Little Red Riding Hood, the newest addition to the series, like all the other titles in the series “Fairy Tales in the Digital World” that this year won the Croatian Security Grand Prix award, warns both children and their parents of the dangers lurking in the online world. This world is very real for children today, as this is where they build relationships, learn, and become part of a community that cheers them on and empowers them, though they can sometimes be exposed to various risks. We are pleased that Combis recognised our mission from the very start, and that with this fourth storybook, we have a winning recipe for learning about how to stay safe on the internet,” said Tomislav Ramljak, head of the Centre for Missing and Abused Children.
